Title: Active Lineup Rule Change
Post by: kidd5jersey on January 04, 2019, 06:57:46 PM
To improve parity in the league, I propose the following changes for active lineups:
C
1B
2B
SS
3B
LF
CF
RF
DH

5SP
7RP

The other 20 spots on the 40 man are bench players.   This will allow people to at least roster a lineup instead of top teams hoarding.

I don't believe it would be right to change it to only 1 catcher.  I selected my team when joining this league based on the 2 catcher roster requirements.

I’ve been skeptical to this type of change the past few years but I’m warming to it and would be fine with it in the proposed format.

It’s essentially just eliminating C, MI, CI and OF while changing the final P slot to RP. Under ideal circumstances i still think the current format is better with the 25man active roster accruing points (as they would contribute in real life) while the rest of 40man is essentially bench. However, I agree this league needs parity and this would help with that so I support it  :iatp:

As far as Brent’s concern I think most everyone would have issues. I would for example suddenly have a glut of 3B and RF and no CI/OF to play them at. We could just make the change straight away under the assumption most of all of us have issues to adapt to but normally with things like this you need a one year lead in. As in this change shouldn’t go in effect until 2020. That would give us all time to make decisions in FA/arbitration(next year) and trades to set ourselves up.
