I don't have any issue with not being able to use a guy that goes over the limit during the playoffs but I don't think anyone should lose a guy because they can't make changes to their roster. I thought that was what PPG was referring to and planned for that accordingly.

There is a date on the FNHL calendar that references Buy-Out freeze starting March 5, 2018.

I would venture to guess that if my team has a prospect that needs to be promoted and my roster is already at 30 of 30 spots filled, the roster space should be made available prior to March 5th otherwise I will not be able to Buy-Out an active roster player beyond Match 5th and would lose the prospect to Free Agency? Is that correct?

Similarly, what happens to a team with 30 of 30 spots filled and an extra player coming off Long-term Injured Reserve? Does that IR player get activated and released to Free Agency?

So yes, plan your roster space accordingly and make sure you're team has the needed space to welcome back injured players otherwise, they'll get released on Buyout terms, same for MiLR prospects that need to be called up after 82 games though the MiLR prospects if they're close to 82 games and haven't surpassed 82 by the end of FNHL's regular season they can pass over to 2018-19 to be promoted.

I read it as any prospects not > 82 right now, can wait until next year to get ELC. I read that IR player will need to come off if they're not eligible and you need roster space now, or will get a buyout. As you know, you're roster will be illegal in fantrax if a player is not injured and on IR.

YES

No.
IR players that need to come off the LTIR must have a roster spot to land on when activated. Otherwise, the team will lose that LTIR at a standard Buyout rate of 66.66% over the remainder of the contract length.

Another question specifically about my Sharks team. There are some violations listed on the page. From what I can understand they are cumulative warnings with possible associated penalties. Do those apply to me as the new owner because they are assigned to the team or are they tied to former management? Thanks!

Violations are GM specific, so luckily that is one thing on the sharks you don't inherit. You can post trades now, but they won't go through until trading opens back up.

Violations are GM specific, so luckily that is one thing on the sharks you don't inherit. You can post trades now, but they won't go through until trading opens back up.

During a trade freeze you can post post-dated trades. We might not review immediately but will get to it eventually.
