20 million dollar pitchers are tough to move on the trade market...I like it though (Sorry OU) it makes the league more interesting.

With that payroll it should have been no problem to navigate through.  100m to batters, 30m to prospects and 70m to pitchers.   I moved a 14m dollar Jake Peavy, who had 4 years remaining....as :SD:, and I have barely under 60m in total cap.  The :NYY: were poorly played and are in for what could be a tough period.  Dan has critical moves to make.

Poorly played or hard luck? I make the arguement that if Morse and Crawford are healthy I am dominating. Although I am biased. I do agree that I can move them the question is who looks at it as more then a salary dump.

I can empathize with OU. The Reds went through a similar thing last year, where it was tough to field a complete team because of injuries. The Brewers are going through that right now, as they have Berkman and Utley missing from action. Injuries are all part of the game. The Jays dumped V-Mart prior to the season because of his perceived lack of usefullness in 2012. It's all a crapshoot. It doesn't help that Joey Bats really hasn't done anything for this season.

But, I will say this, the Yanks don't have the minor league system to make a trade for an impact player to get them over the hump, and have very little cap to play with. It is a rather precocious situation. But then again it could happen to any of us. Hamilton could explode the next time he hits an outfield wall and I would be screwed. It's baseball, you just gotta adapt.

The Yankees are no where near the 2010 Angels.  After Jake left, the next GM (a Yankees fan) went after the big contracts.  The farm was emptied out and there was no depth.  The only difference between them and the current Yankees was that the 2012 Yankees have better talent with their star players.

Anyone want to be a guest power ranking-er this week?

1) :LAD: Los Angeles Dodgers  (32-8) - Most fantasy points scored in NL, two-time defending champ, Kemp MVP
2) :PHI: Philadelphia Phillies  (33-7) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG
3) :STL: St. Louis Cardinals  (28-12) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG
4) :TEX: Texas Rangers  (33-7) - Most fantasy points scored
5) :ATL: Atlanta Braves  (27-13) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG thanks to Granderson and Freese
6) :NYY: New York Yankees  (22-18) - Can't ever cout the Yankees out
7) :BOS: Boston Red Sox  (33-7) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG
8) :KC: Kansas City Royals  (25-15) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG
9) :CIN: Cincinnati Reds  (29-11) - Dan is hoping the injury imp doesn't come after his team, Josh Hamilton is already at 1,000 points, Ortiz close behind
10) :CHW: Chicago White Sox  (26-14) - Just like Reds, White Sox are finally playing up to their potential, Jackson and Pena have been nice duo
11) :TB: Tampa Bay Rays  (23-17) - Could steal the show in a weaker AL East
12) :WAS: Washington Nationals  (22-18) - Impressive work by Jake thus far, but can the Nats continue?
13) :CLE: Cleveland Indians  (25-15) - Votto only has 2 HR but is 7th best player, team has no where to go but up in close division
14) :PIT: Pittsburgh Pirates  (19-21) - 3rd highest points in division behind the Cards/Stros thanks to Swisher/Wieters/Ethiers core aka The Swiesthiers!
15) :CHC: Chicago Cubs  (14-26) - LaHair, Gordon, Strasburg, Darvish, Minor, Bass all reeling right now.. Just imagine if Trout, A-Ram, and Phillips can contribute more.. Hence my higher ranking
16) :OAK: Oakland Athletics  (15-25) - Strange to see the A's this low, but they have the tools to keep on plugging away
17) :COL: Colorado Rockies  (16-24) - Should be playing much better but is recovering from an inactive GM
18) :SEA: Seattle Mariners  (26-14) - CarGo and Altuve great off-season acquisitions for surprising M's
19) :MIL: Milwaukee Brewers  (13-27) - Most points against, but one of lowest fantasy points total… can't see this lasting throughout the season especially with players coming back from injury/down-time
20) :TOR: Toronto Blue Jays  (17-23) - Notoriously strong team starting slow
21) :HOU: Houston Astros  (22-18) - One of six teams averaging about 1100 PPG but I am not a believer when you rely on guys like Lowrie and Bourn as your two top producers… other supporting cast is solid making the NL Central even tougher this year
22) :MIN: Minnesota Twins  (19-21) - Don't be fooled by the .500ish record
23) :NYM: New York Mets  (14-26) - Beltran + Triple-F core (Furcal, Fielder, Freeman) with Kershaw makes team a tough out every week
24) :MIA-MLB: Miami Marlins  (14-26) - Some decent pitching with three SP > 45ppg
25) :SF: San Francisco Giants  (17-23) - De Aza ain't going to cut it for long
26) :DET: Detroit Tigers  (10-30) - Awesome pitching but no bats!
27) :ARZ: Arizona Diamondbacks  (9-31) - Offensive pieces aren't there although Michael Young, Markakis, and Goldschmidt are expected to do 60-100% better
28) :LAA: Los Angeles Angels  (6-34) - 3rd lowest fantasy points total
29) :SD: San Diego Padres  (11-29) - 2nd lowest fantasy points total
30) :BAL: Baltimore Orioles  (0-40) - No wins, barely any points, this is part of rebuilding

The NL Central is undeniably the best division in MLB.
