To MINNESOTA :MIN-NHL:
$6.4m cap relief through this trade
Drake Batherson, $0.2m (2017-2019)
Connor Hobbs, $0.2m (2017-2019)

To SAN JOSE :SJ:
Wayne Simmonds, $6.6m (2018-2022)

I like Simmonds and the cost to our team is Cap Space plus two up and coming players. Of our $7m in available cap, we'll be left with $0.6m after this trade. It's worth it to bolster our RW with a vet like Wayne. Wild to confirm.

Wayne is worth much more than this. Why is Minnesota paying Vadim Shipachoyov 4.2m a year for him to play in the KHL when there is 0% chance he plays in the NHL again?

If the Wild need cap space that badly, they could buyout Ship at 40% and also buyout Gibbons who is a 4th line winger.

Wild agree to trade. These guys i am getting back i feel can help me more down the road. I think both these guys i can build my team around.

I see your point. The history between these owners is relatively new and I don't think it hurts any specific team so I OK'ed this deal. If there was a history and a pattern it'd be different.
