Current Rule

Once a new player is posted with a bid, the second bid for that player must double the previous bid.

Proposed Rule Change

The second bid must only be an increase of $50k or more.

Current vote is 8-5 in favor of keeping as is. I can see why more might prefer as is making the intial bet more strategic

It's not strategic. It benefits those who can sit and wait for the clock to strick noon to put in their bids for the best prospects and lock everyone else out since international money in capped.

It would be one thing if you could go over budget and have some sort of future penalties like real life. But right now it's just who ever bids first wins these players with 2.5m bids because literally no one can double them.

Doubling the open bid should be to help protect those who scour the minor leagues for players and not first come first serve for the top international players. Majors free agent bids should also be doubled to make things uniform if the result of the vote is no since minors bids and J2 would both be doubled.

Maybe attach a dollar figure to it. For instance, any initial bid below 500k has to be doubled (discovery fee). Another option is first week no doubt ling needs to occur.

I work as do many of us and I cannot sit there to throw $3M down on the top player.  It doesn't mean that I do not want him.

I want to change my vote from no to yes. How can I do that?

I'd recommend a max initial bid of 1M and that would solve all the issues with IFA bidding.

Simple but I like this.

Current vote (taking into account KiddJersey's change of mind)  is 9-8 in favor of keeping as so potentially only do the above change in stead. Any other thoughts?
