My take on that is their is always going to be anomaly's to every rule. Take pronger for example or Savard , both guys are not officially retired, nor do they have plans to retire but neither will ever play another NHL game. How is it fair to any teams that have those players. I think its just one of those things you just kind of have to accept there will be situations that dont fit within our neat package of rules.Teams still have other alternatives IE. IR or using the flex waiver. paid for by the avalanche organization.
Just a thought: What if we had a cap floor like the NHL does? This would decrease that $6.75 significantly.
Haha c'mon man! That would mean me having to unintentionally being a d*ck to someone in FA and bid up one FA, only to give him a contract of 1-year for $28m (I'll have an extra $31m or so to play with next year that is on loan to various teams this year).Personally I don't care, but I don't think that makes sense for the person who actually wanted that player on their team to have to compete with such a bid...
