FA bid closed 48hrs after this bid by Arizona. This Trade with Colorado initiated same day the extra 24hrs window was coming to close to make a roster spot for the FA. Arizona and Colorado Trade
Arizona sending:
David Krejci, $6.7m (2015-2019)
Deryk Engelland, $1.0m (2015-2017)

Colorado returning:
Cody Franson, $5.5m (2015-2019)

Arizona to confirm
By the time Arizona confirmed Trade, the extra 24hr window closed and no roster space was available in Arizona to sign Spencer Abbott. Sometimes you put something together and it looks good at the time but it just dosent get you to where you want to go. So you make some changes. This trade obviously has focus on the future. The two players FNHL ready hopefully wake up a bit for the rest of the season. Jeremy Roy had a solid IIHF Tournament, Arizona hopes he and Jeremy Lauzon can team up next season. RW has been a year long issue for Zona Cliff Pu should help, he has to work on his on ice decisions, other wise good size quick hands. His other down fall is he is in the Buffalo Sabers (NHL) system.....not a fan. Cody Fransen is underplaying his contract and also with Buffalo nuff said. Tomas Jurco is a RW who seems to gave lost his hockey mind (confidence) hope he finds it, he could assist.

Playing with fire gents! This time you got burnt! When this FA bid closed after 48hrs (Jan 7th) plus another 24hrs (Jan 8th) for :PHO: to clear a roster spot, there was no room in Arizona to add this FA. Abbott remains a FA and ARI cannot bid on his services for the remainder of 2016-17. :judge:
That's a 1st violation for the Coyotes.
Reminder that 2nd offence is 5% cap penalty applied. Ouch! NJ already had one of those.
