Have to say I'm surprised the Maple Leafs are a Top 3 team so soon after their rebuild started 3 years ago.
Good management deals and great coaching has brought them to the top of the league which is rare by NHL standards and given Toronto's history in the modern era.
Always good to see a Original 6 team playing well. Yes, even Toronto!

If they get a little stronger on the blueline, they'll be even harder to play against. It helps that they've got so much offensive depth and a great coach in Babs. Lots of teams have 3 solid scoring lines this days, but Toronto has 4 a lot of nights.

Couldn't agree more. It's great hockey to watch. Lots of scoring and puck movement.

Toronto finally wants to win. They've had a half century of mehhh.
Agree with Izaman. Leafs can roll 4 lines every night. Makes for great hockey!

Nah Leafs are all hype cuz of the market they're in.
Pens
Preds
Blues
Sens
Kings
Jackets
Lightning
FNHL Hurricanes
Are all better on the blue line and in goal which is what matters most in April and May. If they acquire OEL we can revisit. Otherwise they are over rated.

The FNHL Canes are a little weak on blueline themselves... Thank goodness they picked up Ghost or someone might have been able to compete with them this year... :toast:

Those FNHL Canes are dominating the season. From close to last in 2016-17 to 1st this yr.

Haha that's what Bob is for!
No matter how good you look in the regular season if you run into the wrong team with a couple of hot goaltenders you will be toast in a hurry in the playoffs. It's anybody's game. I still like the Rangers, Canadians, Islanders, Red Wings, Bruins and Flyers quite a bit in the east. Anyone of them is capable of winning it. There's also some really good teams just a notch below them that are more than capable of winning a round or two(Caps, Lightning, Devils). Hell if the Capitals got another goalie that would be a really scary team.
I'd trade first overall for second place in the pacific any day...
