Title: FNHL on what site in 2019-20?
Post by: PigsRule on December 24, 2018, 02:02:54 PM
Hi owners, we need to consider the future of FNHL beyond 2018-19 on Profsl.

Unless Profsl/Colby can guarantee stability in writing to myself and PPG by January 15th, we will need to review new sites to continue playing on beginning in 2019-20.

As background, I took over as Commish when a bunch of so called Profsl Staff bailed on this great setup back in 2012. PPG has taken FNHL to a new level. We've all turned this into a great stable & competitive :money: league and are here for the thrill & competition of the best 31 team cap league.

Stay tuned for updates. I need to see better support for FNHL by Colby.

:iatp: Having joined the site in 2011, I can say that PigsRule and PPG have lead this league to the point where we can expect to add a 32nd team next Summer and new owners are interested in buying a franchise for over $125.00USD (or where owners can even turn a small profit on the sale of their franchise when they choose to exit). Profsl should nurture this league and support FNHL as stated above. I believe FNHL is a flagship league for Profsl and deserves a high profile site wide.

:iatp::iatp::iatp: Couldn't agree more. I've seen the lip serve paid to other leagues. Surprised how at the lack of mention for PR or anyone in this league.

I would like written assurances that Colby stabilizes Profsl as PR mentioned. :judge::iatp:

I don't blame you guys, as this site has fallen off a lot over the years to the point where most guys don't even check this site out very much. This league has added new guys to the community, which is very under appreciated.

Merry Christmas to the league and looking forward to a fun finish for this 18-19 season.

First off I'm still alive. As for the best league on This site  :iatp. I trust the leadership will make the right call for the good of FNHL.

The state of me? In a word....Circus. Sorry to those who offered trades without getting you a response. I under normal circumstance would reply. I will be back to full power soon.

I love this league. It's been well thought through and PPG & PR have been up and up guys always good for their word. Would hate to see it move to another site but I support the commissioners 100%. I'm on board.

We don't want to go but we don't want to have FNHL get caught shutting down in us overnight. Too many gents have invested time and $$ in a fantasy league on this site. I really do except Profsl to support us and showcase us as their top hockey league.

Well so far nothing from Colby. Not looking good so far. We'll see what happens by Jan 15th.

There is the other web site that we have received invitations to join throughout the past few years started by the tech guy who used to be friends with this site's owner. I think it was Corey. But I do not know anything about that web site other than one owner from this league went and we never heard from him again.

PR and I have a few options and one specific preferred site if we need to go there.

Based on the tone of the note from the site owner, this site is potentially a candidate to be orphaned if it wasn't already. I'm all for moving if it means we can continue to evolve this league. Does anyone know if we can do a more comprehensive setup on Fantrax and use Google's properties to mirror the current setup of our league?

I've been in a baseball league that was setup using Google drive and Google sheets. Not hard to transfer this setup to that. Might not look as pretty but it would be functional and with Google sheets you would have Salary tallied automatically if you organize it like you would in an Excel spreadsheet.

So Colby has not reached out to provide written confirmation to either of PPG or Pigsrule to confirm ProFSL.com will continue beyond the summer of 2019???? Really?

THAT SUCKS!

So the guy who runs Profsl.com didn't confirm in writing this site will exist beyond 2019? That's messed up! If he really is moving onto other web interests like his Persona gig, I got to think this site become an orphan and decommissioned shortly.

Are any of the other leagues on this site concerned?

To be honest, I would not be that worried. The guy has been non-existent for the last 3-4 yrs. The league has been running fine. A backup plan should be discussed, because he could pull the plug at any time.

Seems like this topic jumped threads.

Overall, I think Colby has a great website for fantasy sports. He seems to have tabbed the wrong individuals to lead the various sections and they did a poor job organizing things. Never a good idea to get 20 year olds to lead. My hope is Colby wises up and puts it in writing that ProFSL.com will indeed continue beyond 2019 because many of us have invested time contributing content by remaining active all these years.

Agree but Colby should still have taken the opportunity to reassure the masses officially. If he doesn't bother renewing this site's domain and certificates, it's all gone immediately.

Having a Plan B is always a smart move. All the time and effort poured into this league by PR and PPG has made it a top destination for hockey fanatics who want the challenge of a deep 31-team cap league.

Would love to be kept up to date on developments by both Profsl/Colby and our own FNHL Commissioners.

One would think that the guy who owns the site would put in writing he's going to keep the site alive beyond the 2019 renewal date if it was true.

I guess a written public notice is too much legal proof in case he shuts down this site.

If the guy put time into this web site of his it would be great. It looks really good right now and apparently it hasn't had much TLC in years. Doesn't seem far off from being a top fantasy site. The discussion boards could be the key to getting the traffic up again. Leave the dead leagues and let future member pick them up instead of tossing them into the Archive. Example move that Rebel league down the listing page for starters but don't delete it completely.
