Title: InjRes (IR)
Post by: Thecliff on March 04, 2020, 08:01:04 PM
What is considered IR in the league? Having performed research at fantrax I found that the WCB2 rosters (excluding Minors) has a total of 53 players with a red flag. There are another 7 players that have a red flag with a white cross. As for players having just a red flag, those players do not qualify to be placed on InjRes. The InjRes is for players that are on long term disable list or any player with red flag including white cross in the middle.

I could not find where the rules talk about IR. I have 1 in IR now, if they are long term IR do they still take a roster spot?

At fantrax, their are players with red flags, players having red flag with white slash mark ...these payers might be on 7 or 10 day IR), and then there are players with red flag including white cross.  Before the regular season begins, only players with red flag including white cross qualify for IR slot. Once the season begins then players with red flag including white slash mark or white cross will qualify for IR slotting. The salary of players on IR do count toward team salary, however, a player can be added as replacement if team has the salary to cover.  All teams have up to 3 IR slots.

UPDATE 2020: Because of the pandemic in 2020 have removed the restriction of long term InjRes and any red flag players in 2020 will qualify for DL listing as the DL has been increased to 15 slots for 2020. Plus opt out players grey flag qualify and any players that test positive CODIV-19 required out 14 days.

2021 and even so the pandemic is still at large but the vaccines are being used, the league will return back to 2019 ruling of InjRes.
