Title: SLACKJACK. Rules are for all. No exception!
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on September 16, 2015, 11:28:05 AM
You are no different.
TRYING to show up others is not what I expect from owners.
WHINING because you didn't get your way is not acceptable behaviour in any league.
Being SARCASTIC and ANTAGONISTIC is unwelcome especially when accompanied by whining and the constant challenges.

You basically want to run the league.
Go create a new league and get a taste for the workload.

Act like a man and stop moaning because you didn't get your way.

I'm going to do the rare thing and step out from the shadows. This should be over already. The punishment has been handed out and accepted. Despite there is no actual rule on what went down on the buy out buy back ect....  This should be a call to make ALL rules visable in our rules. Now lets all build a bridge and get over it. Hockey......that should be.whats on our minds. Its about to start (preseason) the first Blackhawks game on TV is tuesday!

GAME ON

Pigs Rule has been officially reprimanded by PROFSL for his disparaging comments, and faces the a possibility of a ban from the site for further misconduct. So yes, rules are for everyone. That much is resolved.

The issue of "abusing the rules" and retro-active penalties, however, is alarmingly new. Until my franchise sells, I will do what I can for those who want a fair league with predictable consequences. I have nothing to lose.

This needs to be done with. The situation is over, so lets grow up, type out all rules and not try to humiliate others or others family.

Some rules are missed because they are understood,  I more than anyone know that happens. So correct it immediately and then move onto the season.

Perhaps the 1st rule edit is No Member Shall Challenge the Commissioner(s) repeatedly over a lengthy period of time via PM, Board Posts, official discussion threads or unofficially ranting thru random posts. Then after aggressively maneuvering but unsuccessful in their attempt to get what they demand, file an official complaint to Colby and Corey to discipline the commissioner(s).

How about another for Colorado's owner SlackJack, Teams cannot "tank"/sit their most productive players multiple weeks during a season in an attempt to acquire the 1st overall draft pick or a significantly higher draft choice than anticipated.

If I have to do homework to make 1 discontent fantasy sports 'player' because it is a game ppl, and then be trolled and baited into a discussion on the emotional state of that player because he takes offense to a statement... it's not worth my time.

For that reason and many others, I will ask Slack to find his way to the exit.

Not worth the 10 bucks Colorado tossed into the pool.

Still in the Sun........no rule should be inferred, if it has affect on a GM, Player, Team, or the league it NEEDS to be in our rules. I am in favor of limiting the times you can bo/resign a player. I would be in favor of a no tank rule. I am in favor of personal issues being handled in PM. I am in favor of issues effecting the league being brought to light in public. I am in favor of the commissioners getting respect and vice versa. I am also in favor of a competitive league, which is why I think its a mistake to get rid of an active, vocal, competitive owner.

I think at some point everyone involved stepped over the line at one point or another.

Just my $1.47

Vocal we like.
Active but smart too.

Bossy is a whole different ball of wax my friend!

There's plenty of rope for gents to pull in their direction and have a say but when you take that rope and wrap it around the commissioner's neck, you've crossed the line. LOL

Give Slack his entry fee back....take it out of the pot for the winner.

Slack is a good guy and passionate about winning.

I believe we all understand that you guys did not appreciate the method that slackjack used to make his point, but I feel that we are beyond that now. But to help prevent something like this from happening again, we should clearly state it in the rules the number of times a player can be brought out by a single team as well as several other issues that blckhwkfan mentioned in his last post in this thread.

I understand that running a league is hard as I tried doing that myself on these boards and failed horribly. It is a very time intensive and thankless job. But times also change, and with that, the rules should change with them. Changing and updating the rules will make it an easier experience for everyone in the league and it will make running the league a lot easier on you guys.

I also agree with ripper and papps in regards to giving slackjack his money back. It's only $10, the season didn't really start, Colorado definitely has the most promising group of young guns in the league, and selling the rangers for $85 has proven that this league has no problems raising cash.

Sorry to see Slackjack go, he is a great guy, who knows his hockey. I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes, but it appears that is none of my business. Good luck in your other leagues, you put Colorado in a great position to succeed in the future.

As far as Pigrule goes, he made decisions he chose to and he isn't going anywhere. The site lacks commissioners who are willing to do the dirty work, and he has put the league back on the map. Maybe not making the most popular decisions, but does it for the better of the league imo.

3 weeks til the phuck drops, kids :NHL:  :P  :toast:

Idk why fantasy gets so personal. It bothers me when owners like SJ are banished. I want to go up against the best GM's, guys who care & don't quit on their teams or themselves.

We are all diverse on this site, I rub some people the wrong way too, SJ is a good guy, he is the kind of GM that more leagues need imo. Most importantly to me, I think I can beat him no matter who he cuts & resigns. I know I would like to try.

If there is any reconsideration that can be employed, please use it. If the line has been drawn in blood then I will have to accept that which I cannot change. Either way I wish everyone involved well.

May I ask exactly what happened here? I follow this league from time to time and am curious as to what has occurred here.

my suggestion would be to PM all parties involved. This way it doesn't escalate into something more.

Lets Go Hockey!

PigsRule said some stuff about my wife that offended me, and he wouldn't acknowledge it by PM, so I went over his head. In response he penalized my team. Then, after Corey gave him a warning, he kicked me out without compensation.

I probably over-reacted but there's been a lot of misunderstanding all around. To be fair, I think Pigs thought I wasn't following the spirit of the rules when I didn't rightly know there was such a thing. It's a money league and competition is encouraged.
