Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on March 12, 2015, 10:50:33 PM
C - Victor Rask (2011: 2/42 - 64 Games)

MiLR Player has surpassed the 40 game maximum to remain in the minors.
Wild have 24hrs to promote or the player will be released to FA.  :judge:

What type of notice? This really hurts my team long-term. Are you guys serious about just removing my best prospect because I was 6 hours late on a rule that I wasn't even aware of? Without even getting a PM in mail about it.

To clarify, the rule is 40 games and you need to promote the prospect.

Rask has played 64 games. I'd say that's an extra 2 months.

San Jose got the same 24hr notice.

Would have appreciated a hinch or a notice about this during this two-month span... is that too much to ask for during my first year? 24 hours ultimatum without even letting me know personally.. wow

Dude, all the "hints" you need are posted. They are called "rules". If this is your first season, like it is mine, then reading them should have been your first order of business.

Yes I suppose, I am sorry. This just hurts the team so much value-wise as he was my top prospect. Yes I missed the rule about prospects going to FA after 40 games, still - I need to think about my participation this off-season.

Good luck to the teams still competing in the playoffs.

Personally I feel MiLR players should be auto-promoted if there is room on the MLR. I think the warning itself was sufficient but that the policy itself could be changed to favour promotion (when there is room) instead of release. It would be a little more human that way.

I understand an owner's disappointment in losing a top prospect.

The Wild had both roster space and available cap to sign Rask to an Entry Level contract at any point.

However failure to verify eligibility and rules comes with consequences. Otherwise it wouldnt make the league competitive but instead a friendly, causal league where rules get bent for ppl and deadlines slide. We want to avoid that. It is the reason we ask everyone to read the rules before they join Franchise NHL.

Any automated process that allows owners to have things done for them wouldbt help promoye league activity IMO. also waters down competition for resourcea and assets.

Why wouldn't a team want to sign their top prospect to an entry level when they have cap and roster space?  It is just unrealistic that he now is available in the FA. I was 12 hours late to see the message here on the transactions page...  of course I am dissapointed. My motivation to work with this team just dropped drastically. Naturally

Snygg, maybe this is coming out wrong but it sounds like you're complaining about rules.

You say yo missed by 12hrs. I will say you missed by 2 months worth of games plus the 12hrs to sign the kid.

MiLR Player has surpassed the 40 game maximum to remain in the minors.
Wild have 24hrs to promote or the player will be released to FA.  :judge:

MiLR prospect released. 1st instance of MiLR prospect exceeding the allowable maximum 40 games played. 2nd instance results in an automatic release of the MiLR player.

:MIN-NHL: Page done. :judge:
