Title: DNHL Record Setting Team
Post by: GypsieDeathBringer on October 11, 2019, 09:33:22 AM
It will be fun to watch this DNHL Bruins team flirt with scoring the lowest amount of points each and every week.  They could be setting and resetting that record all year long.  Breathtaking stuff.

Yeah but unlike some other GM's, at least he's doing it by the book!

thats the one thing I really dont like about fantasy is that you dont have to field a team every week

Looks like Jean had other ideas for the Bruins. Had them finishing 17th!

Tanking is tanking. In fantasy even though it sucks, it should really be allowed. Especially in a free league. Granted we don't have a draft lottery, but it is what it is. Look how well Arizona's team is shaping up.

That's what i thought when I joined but there are still some rules that need to be followed. If you have active players on your main roster they must be iced. Best way to legally tank is how Rob is doing it in Boston. He only has a handful of actual NHL'ers so they just stay in the active slots with no need for line management. In Ottawa's case it's a little trickier in that you are expected to compete to the best of your ability with what you have.

But isn't letting guys sit in the minors scoring points the same as not starting guys?

Loopholes in the rules don't make it better

Ottawa will be setting roster going forward..driving 2 hours each way to the hospital the past week ensuring our lineup was up to date with injuries wasn't a priority

Some call them loopholes, others call them rules. The idea is that it's fantasy hockey so we want to have tools (loopholes) to help rebuild crappy teams quickly, but we still have to compete with what we have. I'm following the pressure-cooker strategy and keeping guys in the minors until I am forced to field them. Anyway I'm happy you care and are actively working to improve your team, that's the main thing. Best wishes on the hospital thing. That sucks.

Understand what your saying..i mentioned last year my thoughts on being allowed to tank. Thanks for the wishes...nothing with me and hopefully things will go back to normal.

Ha, I thought I was the biggest pro-tanking guy here. But you can imagine what it would be like if it was anything goes. When we went head-to-head the score at the end of the week would be zero to nil.
