-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)
:LA:
Dan's been a beast on the transaction boards this year.  Jared also dominated FA, but he's won this award two years in a row - so screw him!

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
:PHO:
This was SO hard for me.  Tyler and his Ducks are a wagon and it's truly amazing what Cally has done with Florida.  However, NOBODY (not even Florida) started with less than Ryan did when he took over this team.  This team was Calgary when we launched in 2011 and when Ryan took over he inherited Mike Smith and a barrel of goat feces.  Brad Richards was his top offensive player.  Much kudos to you sir.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)
:ANA:
Quick disclaimer - I use Fantrax eligibility to evaluate these positions.  If a player is C eligible but mostly plays the wing in real life it does not matter for me.  If fantasy says he's a Center, then he's a center in my book... You all may use whatever parameters you see fit to decide on your votes.  I see Anaheim as having the best 3 headed monster at the C position in Tavares, Seguin and Galchenyuk.  They also have some nice depth pieces to augment their stars.

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)
:WAS-NHL:
Ovechkin.  Not much else, but doesn't need much else.  Carolina is a close 2nd for me with Pavelski, Couture and Bobby Ryan.

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)
:STL-NHL:
Tarasenko + Stamkos + Backes = nasty!

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)
:FLO:
I was close to choosing Anaheim here because I think they have the best defensive depth in the league.  But I couldn't resist voting for the team with Karlsson and Letang.

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)
:FLO:
Landslide here.  Colorado is the only team who is close IMO.  Schneider, Hiller, Elliott and Lehner.  Goalie depth like this is unheard of.  Cally does love his goalies.  You should offer him a trade for one of his goalies, if you don't like your first born...

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)
:BUF-NHL:
Soooo close to making the dance and this team is probably better than 2 or 3 teams that did make it.  Jean will make it next year, assuming he hasn't inherited LA's luck.

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)
I will vote for myself and my teams inability to keep a 7th defenseman healthy, resulting in many transactions.

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
Undoubtedly for me it is the Florida Panthers.  Can't argue with that turn around.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)
Colorado has Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.  I vote yes for them every time.

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)
Ducks win this for me with Parise, Benn, Palat and Galchenyuk.

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)
Hurricanes have Pavelski, Blake Wheeler, Wayne Simmonds, and Kyle Okposo.  That is the bees pajamas there.

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)
Florida has basically everyone you want with Karlsson, Letang and Subban.

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)
     Kings with Price and Quick.

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)
I'm going to go with the Blues.  They would easily be in the playoffs if Lundqvist didn't get hit in the throat with a puck.  Goalies specifically have a piece of equipment to prevent this from every happening, but his own teammate lifted the protector as the puck was rocketed at his face.  Bad Juju.

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)

Gypsie.  His write ups are great through out the year!

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)

I would love to vote for myself here, but I'm going to vote for Tyler.  Cally has done a great job, but I think I get to see Tyler's Ducks more and that makes me appreciate his work a little more.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)

Ducks.

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)

Ducks.

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)

Blues.  I love Tarasenko

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)

Florida.  If anyone else gets votes it will be a shock.

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)

Kings.  I like having two studs, and they have them.

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)

I'm going to go with the Blues.  Tough division and losing the King really hurt and was unfortunate down the stretch

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)

There are a few between Rob, Jared, Norry et al. But Gypsie takes the cake with his Power Rankings.... They never disappoint and just another reason to love this league

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)

Toss up here between Arizona & Florida.... How can you discount a team that makes such a turnaround. After going back and forth I will choose Arizona. My reasoning is what he had to work with was AWFUL and took his time to rebuild this into a great sexy team. Not an easy task.

I have to give Cally some major props with his daft moves acquiring youth that really started to produce, he will be a major threat for years to come.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)

Seeing as I will never vote for myself I will say COL, a team having Gino and Sid is pretty OK I guess.....

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)

Maybe a little off the board, but CAR has 3 in the Top 20 due to dual eligibility with Ryan, Couture and Pavelksi... that's a pretty tasty combo

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)

I like STL here with tarasenko, Backes and Stamkos

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)

Florida... not sure how one argues with Karlsson, Letang and Subban

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)

Kings have 2 in the Top 10, that's a pretty decent luxury if you ask me

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)

Poor STL.... Such an awesome team that really had god awful luck. Losing Hank was the icing on the cake for me to throw out this vote.

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)

:CAR-NHL:/GypsieDeathBringer.   Elliotte Friedman, Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger ... GypsieDeathBringer.  The Mount Rushmore of hockey reporting.

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)

:FLO:/Capn Cally.  I'm probably not qualified to vote on this since I haven't witnessed the last few seasons, but if the Panthers were in the toilet last year then Capn Cally did something right.  Judging by the Ducks lineup, which depresses me, Tyler could win this every year.  Much respect to Ryan; inheriting and fixing an awful team in a few seasons deserves an award too.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)

:ANA:   Tavares, Seguin and say no more.  Great now and great for many years to come.

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)

:ANA:   Parise, Benn and give me a break Tyler, go play in another sandbox.

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)

:STL-NHL:   Stamkos and Tarasenko and is a great one-two punch.  Honorable mention to :WAS-NHL:.

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)

:FLO:   Karlsson, Letang and Subban.  You need a telescope to see second place on this one.

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)

:FLO:   Other teams have a better top end and are just as deserving, but the Panthers have good depth with good quality.

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)

:STL-NHL:   The Blues had some tough luck.  That's a high quality lineup that definitely deserved to make the playoffs.  There's no mercy in the Mountain West.

Carolina

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
Florida

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)
St. Louis - his depth options at center far and away surpasses Anahiems

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)
Carolina and Anahiem are a tie for me

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)
St. Louis takes this one, I fell like my avs were a close 2nd with Malkin, Perry and Callahan, St. Louis boys were just that much better.

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)
Florida

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)
LA

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)

  • dbreer23: Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...
  • Brent: Nope, 32-team contract league.
  • ldsjayhawk: I don't have Holiday.  Just used him as an example since he was the #1 prospect
    Today at 12:56:05 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: @Alpha I do make trades.  I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool
    Today at 12:59:21 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
  • Brent: I had Holliday in FGM before I stepped away.
  • Brent: I am glad I cut back on leagues, I was spread too thin.
  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen
    Today at 01:52:08 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning
    Today at 01:52:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: If you made a list of the most aggressive gms to have stepped foot in nfl live, you will notice the champions will be among them
    Today at 01:53:06 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: You arent gonna win every trade and you HAVE to have a plan. Ive made some horrible trades. I have every year
    Today at 01:53:50 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL
    Today at 02:10:04 PM

  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Today at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did
    Today at 03:13:02 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Today at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Today at 03:14:39 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: *your
  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Today at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
  • Alpha5: Guarantee I know who he traded Kamara to for 1-7 without even looking
    Today at 05:22:42 PM

  • BayAreaBallers: my team was in the Crapter at that pt
    Today at 05:29:58 PM
  • Brent: Who did you draft with the 1st acquired in that trade?
  • Daddy: Whoever it was, he got six more choices on top of that. The "win win" scenario.
  • Daddy: At that time i had no RB1. So i traded an entire draft class to get one.
  • Daddy: SF doubled up his pick haul and went to work, using them in trades & draft return.
  • Daddy: Then beat me in the NFC Title game.
