Thanks you wait to bet at the 46 hours. Keep him. I don't need him anyway

McNabb did not receive a contract post within 4 days and is released back into FA

A) Free Agent Bidding
Bids are in format of total contract value. Note that the number of years does not need to be listed until the bid is won.  The resulting salary will be the final bid divided by number of years, rounded to the nearest $0.1m. The winning bid will be the highest total contract amount.

Each player is auctioned in a separate thread at the ProFSL website, to be posted in the  that may be started by anyone.  A bid on a player is considered final when it has been inactive for 48 hours.

A maximum amount of active free agent bids by one general manager is 5, if this number is exceeded then bid/bids become nullified.

Once a free agent is won, a contract for that player must be submitted (in the same post as the FA won). This must be posted within 4 days. This will result in the following penalties:
Failure To Announce Contract For A Won Free Agent
1st violation - Warning and player released to free agency
2nd violation - Banned from league at discretion of league commissioner or probation from free agency bidding
If it is a cap issue though then a cap move must be posted with 24 hours then a contract must be posted within 4 days of FA bid won.

Suggestion -

Next time when a GM does not give a contract the player should be awarded to the previous bidder. Sometimes a GM just bid to continue the bidding war with no real intention to take the player at the end. McNabb was a good example . The GM just bid 2 hours before the deadline.

I think that I like the rule the way we have it. It is not a rule that gets invoked very often and if we were to change it, it could complicate things for some GMs. For example, if I was the previous bidder and after losing the bid on McNabb then I went out and bid on my 2nd choice, Erik Karlsson. I could end up winning my second choice and then McNabb's winner doesn't indicate a contract and all of a sudden, I win McNabb too. Maybe at the point I don't have the cap or roster space for both Karlsson and McNabb and my roster is put in a complicated situation due to someone else.

I also don't think that a bid 2 hours from the deadline is necessarily any indication that someone is not a serious bidder. I have done it myself plenty of times in this league. Since we have a maximum of 5 active bids, there are often times where GMs have to time their bids just right in order to stay within that limit. Sometimes that means bidding close to a time where a is close to being won by someone else. Also what if a GM is gone for a short time and only happen to see the bid near the deadline. The 48 hours of inactivity is meant to give other people ample time to indicate interest and ensure that players get fair market value contracts in free agency.

I should be given an extension. I am currently on storm duty here in North Carolina, and I am working 16 hour days. Kinda hard to keep up with anything that is not real life at this point.

Based on this, I think we should show Jonathan a bit of grace

He won him on the 11th. He posted on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th. He made 15 total posts during the time that he won him and within 4 days which he had to sign him. Bids, comments, drops in other leagues, including a pick in the Backyard draft on the 14th with McNabb right below.

I'm always willing to work with GMs when real life happens, but I hope for a little bit of proactiveness or foresight on a GM's part. Given that Carolina didn't let me know about their situation while making other posts, they will not get an extension on posting a contact for McNabb. This small infraction only calls for a warning and Jonathan is a great and competitive GM. I doubt not having McNabb will mess with his master plan too much, and he'll think of alternative moves if he deems it necessary.

I want this league run fairly and competitively. Anyone can always bring up any issues via PM. We're all in this to have fun and at some point to win. Anyway...
