2013 Re-sign values
« on: February 18, 2013, 12:12:50 PM »
Is there any plans to update this? I notice the contract values have not changed since 2011...

The plan is to update 1 to 2 positions annually, since the project is very time-consuming.  I was thinking of updating the contracts for C and OF this year and MI and SP next year.

Have we made a decision on whether to use real life contract values or FGM contract values? Baseballprospectus has the real life contracts by position list that we can just use if we decide to use real life contract values (not that I advocate that approach).

I always thought we should go with real life

 :iatp:

Or else our fantasy extensions will game the system... our caps increase with real-life figures anyways, so there shouldn't be concern with the salaries not tying 1-1.

So if BP has them ready to go, I am of the mind that it should start in the off-season of 2014. Gives everyone a season to get their affairs in order.

I also think a change should happen every 3 years to escape stagnation. Many of the teams in MLB got TV money, which is something that doesn't happen in our world, so to change them every year might not match up.
