The process actually follows MLB pretty closely. The main difference is that waivers are revocable in MLB, meaning a team retains claim to the player until the 48 hours expires and if a team puts in a claim, can attempt to make a trade with the claiming team. The other difference is all of the teams in the same league have priority over those in the opposite league.
