I've figured out a way to get the schedule back in balance. It will involve going back and adding games in the first 4 weeks so it may take a while but I'll try to get it done this weekend.
In the mean time, win/loss records may fluctuate a little.

Quite honestly this is not a solution. I offered a solution and was sloughed off. To go back and change win loss records is wrong at best. The fact that the schedule wasn't fixed when the issue was first raised is a second issue as well. I sincerely hope this issue is fixed ASAP so that some semblance of a competetive balance may be alluded to.

What I did was look at the Win/Loss records in each of the first 5 weeks. When there was a team with either 9 or 7 games in a given scoring period I broke down there match-ups and it was pretty obvious what happened. In all but one instance (3 times) the team with 9 games had 2 match-ups with one team in their division. Teams with 7 games was short an inter-division game with the division containing the team with 9 wins. The other was PHI playing 9 games and PIT playing 7 in Wk. 5. I attribute this to "Operator Error". When you make these schedules you chose each match-up from a pull-down menu. PHI is just above PIT. When you have 120 entries to make it's an easy mistake
I know it's confusing if you've never done it, you'll have to trust me. Hopefully we'll have a better system next year.

Can we see the schedule? I have four match-ups this week.

What you see on Fantrax now is the standard schedule. The remainder has to be manually entered. I haven't received Week 8 yet. It will be entered ASAP after I get it and Fantrax will adjust accordingly.
I don't think you can get to the schedule part of the Setup. I believe you need to be a Commish for it to be available but you can add and/or adjust matchups.

Nope, that is precisely the point. I am not capable of enginneering a program of that magnitude

So what is the current process?

A program is in the process of being designed. As I said, I am completely inept in that design so I really don't know what to expect.
Colby started it roughly a month before the season started and then the wheels fell off here at ProFSL. Time constraints and other business here prevented him from finishing. Currently, Colby either feeds me the remainder of the scheduling each week or enters it himself. I assume the program is far enough along that he can do the weekly mtch-ups but I'm not really sure

I go to bed on Saturday winning 4-0 and on Sunday my schedule is updated and now I'm 7-1 this week? How is that honest or fair? My winning percentage dips and it seems like it was done in a dishonest way.

Shouldn't match ups for me be against teams that would leave my winning percentage at 1000.00%? The competitive balance is way off in this league and cannot be guaranteed to be fair any longer for this season. We cannot be adding games to the schedule on SUNDAYS!!

Chris,
I don't know what else I can do to try to help you understand how this scheduling thing works so i've made you a temporary Commish.
What you need to do is go to the FGM Fantrax site hold your mouse over "Commissioner", click on "League Setup". From that page click on "Teams and Schedules"; about 1/3 of the way down the page click on  "Matchups". Scroll down below the matrix and you'll see " Select Scoring Period to View/Edit" The pull-down will allow you to select Week 9- The scoring period that will be completed at the end of today's games.
That will show you every single matchup for the week. Fantrax is not versatile enough to allow our schedule to be set at the beginning of the year. We can, however pre-program 60 match-ups. That would be 4 games for each team. Since we play 8 games/Week the other 60 matchups have to be entered manually.
Glancing at it, in the top 60 matchups (automatically generated) you played inter-division (Rox, Giants, Dodgers and D'Backs). In the next 60 matchups (manually entered to accommodate our schedule) you played Blue Jays, Yankees, Angels, and Mariners. Why would your winning pct. stay the same?
I hope maybe this will help you understand the complexity of the situation

  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL
