I think we need to do something about pitchers in this league.  Either we have to change the scoring system or we need to adjust the contract values.  The best pitchers in this league are worth nothing more than a 12ppg everyday player.

I don't think the owners or the RC has the desire to re-open that can of worms.  The solution is everyone refusing to re-sign their SPs at inflated values and bidding according to statistical value in FA.

I wish their value was better but to change it now is very difficult.

Would it be huge problem by say start of 2014 season we drop pitching money by 20% or any set %?

I think this is a good idea. Maybe something like this could apply to all pitchers making $5m plus?  Or we can adjust the scoring to make them more valuable? Even if something is done by 2015 to give teams a year to adjust to any changes in scoring.

I actually agree with lowering their salaries as well. The problem is obviously that the figures we are using are based off of MLB salaries where the SP and RP are making way more money because they are way more valuable. Would we lower salaries of current pitchers or just pitchers being re-signed?

Maybe we lower pitching values for currently signed and resign values I would imagine. If we want to do a percent rollback we can still use real MLB values and deduct the agreed upon percent?

I guess first things is first that we need a new commissioner first before we go anywhere.

Existing contracts should be like when league started just make from 2014 on % lower so do not open can worms. The days of team signing sp to 27 mil per is over I am sure so does no good to have that as top sps value should be set at % lower that makes sence and just on down line same % lower that way everyone gets fair shake to resign pitching maintain team not have to lose guy in FA
