Backyard NHL: Completed Transactions / Capitals-Red Wings Trade
« on: July 15, 2014, 05:47:46 PM »
:DET-NHL: receives:

Alex Chiasson, $0.2m (2015-16)

:WAS-NHL: receives:

Elias Lindholm, $2.5m (2015-16)
:DET-NHL: Round 4
:DET-NHL: Round 5

:WAS-NHL: confirms this deal.  Well I hate losing Chiasson, as I think he may get a chance to play on the 1st line in Ottawa, but I have some extra depth at RW.  I really was looking for some late picks, but needed a good young player to move Chiasson.  Lindholm's ceiling is pretty high, but he has yet to prove it at the NHL level.  Thanks for the deal thunder!  :toast:

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Arizona Moves/Roster Clean-up
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:31:15 PM »
G Martin Brodeur, $0m (2013-2014) - Please drop.  Just don't have the cap room to sign him.

C Jiri Tlusty, $6.7m (2017-2018) - Please move to LW as that is his only eligible position on Fantrax

If it's easy enough to switch my logo to :PHO: that would be great too!  It's not a must though if it's even more than a little switch.

Thanks Rob!  :toast:

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Capitals-Oilers MEGA Deal
« on: July 07, 2014, 09:49:23 PM »
:WAS-NHL: sends:
Evgeni Malkin, $4.7m (2016-17)
Alex Ovechkin, $7.9m (2016-17)

:EDM: sends:
Henrik Sedin, $3.1m (2014-15)
Nick Leddy, $1.8m (2014-15)
Devante Smith-Pelly, $0.7m (2015-16)
Tomas Jurco, $0.2m (2015-16)
Jared Spurgeon, $0.9m (2014-15)
:CHI-NHL: Round 4
:EDM: Round 4
:MIN-NHL: Round 5

:WAS-NHL: confirms this deal.  Well this is probably the hardest deal I have ever done in any fantasy league.  Moving two studs really hurts, but I feel that I get some great young depth back.  Malkin is on a great contract, but is getting older, and if I'm going to commit to rebuilding, Ovechkin had to go also.  Thanks Drew for the deal and working with me!  :toast:

Backyard NHL: Completed Transactions / Kings-Capitals Deal
« on: June 29, 2014, 06:38:03 PM »
:WAS-NHL: receives:

Tyler Toffoli, $0.2m (2014-15)
James van Riemsdyk, $5.9m (2015-16)
Jhonas Enroth, $1.2m (2014-15)

:LAK: receives:

Josh Bailey, $1.2m (2015-16)
Kevin Klein, $1.5m (2014-15)
Pekka Rinne, $8.0m (2015-16)

:WAS-NHL: confirms this deal.  I like getting younger, but hate losing Pekka.  He is a stud, but he is getting up there in years a little.  Thanks Gilly as always for the deal!

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Coyotes-Blackhawks Trade
« on: June 16, 2014, 08:48:58 AM »
:CHI-NHL: receives:

D Jamie Oleksiak, $m (P-n/a)
D Joshua Morrissey, $m (P-n/a)
G Richard Bachman, $m (P-n/a)

:PHO: receives:

LW Kris Versteeg, $3.3m (2014-2015)

:PHO: confirms this deal.  I get a duel-position Versteeg to add some very much needed depth to my forwards.  I move three specs, but all are guys that I'm not extremely high on.  Thanks Anthony for the deal as always!

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Coyotes-Canucks Deal
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:17:05 PM »
:VAN: recieves:

LW Cory Conacher, $0.2m (P-14/15)
RW Ales Hemsky, $1.1m (2015-2016)
C Jordan Schroeder, $m (P-15/16)

:PHO: receives:

D Zdeno Chara, $6.9m (2017-2018)
5m this year

:PHO: confirms this deal.  Well, this is really just to load up for a run this year.  I don't love Chara and his age, but he plays on a great team, and still gets top PP time.  His contract is terrible, but hopefully he has another great 2 years, and retires!   And I get 5m this year to help out with that!

I am high on Conacher, and think he has a great upside. Schroeder also has a pretty high ceiling.  Hemsky looked great with his new team at the end of the year.  But, story told, I move 2 role players and a high end spec for an old, high-priced, but proven defense-man.

Thanks Gilly as always for the deal!  :toast:

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Arizona-Colorado Trade
« on: May 24, 2014, 11:30:06 PM »
:PHO: receives:

LW Chris Kunitz, $6m (2016-2017)
RW Martin St. Louis, $5.6m (2014-2015)
3 million this year

:COL-NHL: receives:

G Mike Smith, $5.3m (2017-2018)
RW Tomas Jurco, $0.2m (P-n/a)
C Joey Hishon, $m (P-n/a)

:PHO: confirms this deal.

I hate giving up my best goalie, but I have plenty of guys that are going to be getting starts next year.  I hate giving up Jurco also, but I needed to stack up on some more guys to keep up in the division.  I really like both pieces that I get.  Thanks Jared for the deal!

  • Jwalkerjr88: Some guys just dont trade for whatever reason. But the guys who dont arent championship contenders.

  • Daddy: They trade, about as often as real teams do. For people that love year round trading, being in one league, one sport, its going to be difficult.

  • Alpha5: That's what I mean by limited assets
    Today at 09:09:53 AM
  • Brent: And that's why I haven't traded Carr yet.  Someone doesn't have a QB or thinks they'll get one in FA/draft and might be left wanting.
  • Daddy: @Alpha if a team in MLB LIVE has two starting 1Bs then there is also a team without one.
  • ldsjayhawk: @jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe.  I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade.  Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for.  I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

  • dbreer23: Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...
  • Brent: Nope, 32-team contract league.
  • ldsjayhawk: I don't have Holiday.  Just used him as an example since he was the #1 prospect
    Today at 12:56:05 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: @Alpha I do make trades.  I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool
    Today at 12:59:21 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
  • Brent: I had Holliday in FGM before I stepped away.

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning
    Today at 01:52:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: If you made a list of the most aggressive gms to have stepped foot in nfl live, you will notice the champions will be among them

  • Jwalkerjr88: You arent gonna win every trade and you HAVE to have a plan. Ive made some horrible trades. I have every year
    Today at 01:53:50 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Today at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
