Title: Brady signs 3 year extension
Post by: Rob on February 26, 2013, 10:10:52 AM
Tom Brady, already signed with the Patriots through 2014, signed a 3 year extension which will keep him with the Patriots until he is 40.  The 35 year old legend said he wants to play at least 5 more years.  Brady expressed confidence in Pats management, helping them clear up $15m in cap space going into the 2013 season.  Brady is hoping New England can surround him with the pieces necessary to win more championships.  This cap space comes in a year when important Patriot contracts are expiring, namely Welker and Talib.  And in an offseason that's peppered with talented free agents, unlike the past few years when the FA ranks were relatively barren.

The extension is worth $27m.
